Movers and Shakers Resources
Open Collective is a toolbox for individuals and grassroots groups to raise and spend money with full transparency. Payments are made via Open Collective project pages as a quick and easy way to upload invoices and get paid: Here is a tutorial on how to use the platform.
You can access the platform here https://opencollective.com/movers-shakers
Main contact
Ian Pringle is the person with responsibility for the overall management of the Movers and Shakers project so if you have any questions and you are not sure who to contact then start with him
Community Connections
Lizzie Bourke works across Amber Valley and is always a useful person to speak to in terms of finding useful contacts and sharing any information across the borough. She also has a good understanding of the project and is a good contact should Ian be unavailable.
Finance
Iona Davies-Schofield is the best person to speak to if you have a specific question or need support on accessing/spending your funds.

Fundamentally we understand that you know your community best and you know how to speak to them. Make/Shift are not interested in promoting our own brand, we are however interested in promoting the connectivity of communities and the difference that is making to the cultural life of people in Amber Valley.
Please do share any images or information with us we will endeavour to share across our networks.
You can tag us on Instagram using the handle @we_are_makeshift
If you do wish to name Make/Shift in any of your promotional materials we have some simple guidelines on the use of Logos
These are small grants and we do not wish to make additional work for you. As an action-research project we are interested in learning from your experience, but more importantly we want it to be a learning experience for you. If possible, to help us we ask for the following
- An initial meeting online or in person in which we have a recorded conversation that explores your hopes for your activity Book time with Ian Pringle
- Where and when possible, we would like you to keep a record and share of the number of people that attended, age, gender etc by filling out the attached form
- A visit to one of your activities at which we will collect and document experiences of the event, permissions allowing
- A final meeting online or in person at which we record your experiences post activity and any learning you have taken from the experience
We have created a Community Survey postcard to help collect data/feedback quickly, please contact Ian if you would like some printed postcards.
We won’t ask you to lead with Make Shift at the front and centre of your branding and marketing. We ask instead that when you include any logos in flyers, posters and other promotional materials, that you include both the Make/Shift and Arts Council Logos alongside any others. Where logos are being used, both the Make/shift and Arts Council England logos should be used on publicity materials.
